Quick answers for players finding and booking pickleball, and for clubs using PickleMap to run sessions and memberships.
Finding, joining & playing
What is PickleMap?+
PickleMap helps you find pickleball clubs and venues across the UK, view club information and sessions, and—where a club has enabled it—join, book and pay online.
Do I need an account to browse clubs?+
No. You can browse the directory and club pages without an account. You will be asked to sign in when an account is needed for an action such as joining or booking.
How do I join a club?+
Open the club page and follow its membership or joining option. Some clubs approve membership requests before member-only sessions become available.
How do session bookings work?+
For clubs using PickleMap bookings, choose an available session and reserve your place. Paid sessions take you through secure online checkout before the booking is confirmed.
What happens when a session is full?+
If the club has enabled a waitlist, you can join it without paying. When a place becomes available, you may be given a limited opportunity to claim the place and pay if payment is required.
Can I bring a guest or +1?+
Some clubs allow +1 guest requests. The club controls whether guests are permitted and whether organiser approval or payment is required.
Can I be a player and run a club with the same account?+
Yes. Your PickleMap account can be a player, a member of clubs and an organiser or owner of other clubs at the same time. You do not need a separate organiser account.
How are payments handled?+
Online session payments are processed securely through Stripe. PickleMap does not store your card details. Refund availability depends on the club session and cancellation rules shown during booking.
Running your club on PickleMap
Is PickleMap free for clubs?+
Yes. It is free for clubs to claim or create a listing and use the core club-management tools. If a club chooses to take online payments, payment-processing and any clearly disclosed transaction charges can still apply.
How do I claim an existing club?+
Find your club in the directory and choose the claim option. PickleMap asks you to verify that you represent the club before organiser control is granted.
What if my club is not listed?+
Create a PickleMap account and use the option to start a club. Your player account remains the same; club ownership is added to it.
What can organisers manage?+
Depending on your club permissions, PickleMap can manage the public club profile, members, sessions, capacity, bookings, guests, attendance, payments and events from the club dashboard.
Who can manage payout details?+
Payout management is restricted to the club owner. Two-factor authentication is optional for club owners; when enabled, PickleMap uses it to protect payout management. Bank details remain within Stripe rather than being stored by PickleMap.
Can other organisers help manage the club?+
Yes. Club owners can add organisers with appropriate permissions without giving every organiser access to sensitive financial settings.
Can I still book pickleball if I am a club organiser?+
Yes. Organiser access does not replace your player account. You can manage your club and still join or book sessions as a player.
